On Mother’s Day the world recognizes and honors the role of motherhood. We celebrate the women who choose to bear humanity’s next generation and to love them, guide them and protect them throughout life. These women create a foundation of stability for their families and in turn the world community. Mothers are precious beings who love with every fiber of their being. All the while they juggle day to day responsibilities while shaping young lives and preparing their children to live a heart-centered life, fulfilling life.
In the midst of busy days filled with duties Mother’s often place their needs last behind family and friends. In doing so unlocking emptiness deep within their soul that becomes hard to ignore. Mother’s Day is also a reminder to stop, breathe and receive the gifts of the Divine Mother.
She is a source of comfort when weariness fills your mind and body. With divine grace she welcomes all of humanity to feel her unconditional love. She offers a space where sorrows are healed and joy is celebrated. Call upon her strength and spirit when you feel most alone and allow her to sweep away negativity. Let her catch the overflow from your tears, and support your happiness as your heart opens to love more than ever.
This Mother’s day let’s remember all those who mother us, friends, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, stepmothers, and of course mom herself. Celebrate her with a thoughtful loving gift. A simple card or call often means more than the most expensive gift.
The present of presence is extraordinary. When we stop and consciously connect relationships go deeper with love and transcend the “little things” that our personalities create to detract us from seeing the purity of love in one another.
A few years ago my mother passed and I started a new Mother’s Day tradition. Mom had a very special relationship with the Divine often saying the rosary, praying for her children, family and those in need everywhere in the world. In her honor I now choose to start Mother’s Day with a beach walk where I watch the sun rise over the crashing waves and in the morning midst say a prayer of gratitude for mom and also offer prayers of peace for all the souls longing for a mother’s love.
We are all children of the universe; responsible for the care of one another. When we commit to make every day a celebration of love, kindness and compassion in thought and action the world feels the ripple and moves it forward. Carry a small rose quartz as a touchstone to remind you that the Divine Mother is with you, believes in you and celebrates you. Share her love in joy and see the world renew with unbridled childlike enthusiasm.
